Andrea and Joe had one of the sweetest most romantic weddings we’ve photographed yet. Andrea got ready at the Wildflower Inn in Lyndonville, Vermont, which happened to have some amazing spots for vintage style portraits. We loved the old red leaning barn, and the backdrop of the green mountains made for some gorgeous wedding pictures! We even had a team of bicyclists wind their way down an old farm road while we were shooting pictures of Andrea and Joe. I wish we would’ve been able to get the contact info for one of the bicycle riders so we could send them the photo!
Before their first look photo, Andrea and Joe exchanged letters with each other. It was such a sweet idea and really seemed to add another layer of love to their day. After their portraits, we headed to the Newark Union Church in Newark, Vermont where their ceremony was held. Joe and Andrea went DIY on the decorations, and did a fantastic job. Joe punched out hearts and circles on cardstock paper, and then Andrea stitched them all together to create rustic and romantic garlands around the alter and around the church. Their style completely matched the quaint simplicity of this classic New England church. They also had a basket of dried flowers and simple paper cones for people to scoop up petals and throw after they said “I do”.
Their tent reception was held a short walk up from the church at Joe’s parent’s house. Keeping with their shabby-chic romantic style, the tables were decorated with vintage tea tins and antique tea cups filled with flowers. They used an antique bird cage to display old family photos, and passed out scalloped cards for guests to write messages on. Andrea hung vintage handkerchiefs that belonged to both of her grandmothers along one wall of the tent, and wrapped one around her gorgeous rose bouquet. The evening was topped off with one of the most gorgeous sunsets we’ve seen all summer. Here are some of our favorites from the day. The full gallery should be up within the next few weeks!
