Woodstock Inn Winter Wedding Photos
Shay contacted us almost a year ago to see if we were available to document her Woodstock Inn winter wedding. After months of exchanging emails and phone calls to chat about the latest amazing rustic decorations she had discovered, the day had finally come! Shay and Seth set things up so that everything was within walking distance of the gorgeous Woodstock Inn in downtown Woodstock, VT. It was amazing to be able to photograph these two getting ready at the charming Inn. We then took a short walk to the covered bridge for the first look photos. Yes, I said covered bridge. :)
Shay planned for the chilly November weather by giving her bridesmaids fur stoles. She donned a luxurious silver fur shoulder wrap for herself. We found so many fantastic spots around the area for portraits, from “the green” to the manicured hedges around the Inn. Above all, what made these pictures really stunning was simply how openly happy and in love Shay and Seth are.
DIY Winter Wedding Decor
Their ceremony was held in the North Universalist Chapel, and Seth’s brother, a Vermont citizen, officiated the service. Vermont citizens can officiate one wedding in their lifetime. If Vermont weren’t cool enough already, this certainly adds to the caché of living there. Shay used hanging ball jars alternating with flowers and candles to decorate the church. Moss, simple wood twigs, and candles added a cozy winter vibe to this indoor ceremony.
The Rockefeller Room at the Woodstock Inn was a great spot for their intimate reception. Shay incorporated lots of DIY details to give the space a vintage, romantic world-traveling theme. Each table was designated by an antique postcard. Anthologie Press designed the unique guests seating cards as vintage luggage tags! The night ended with guests sending wish lanterns into the starry sky over the Inn!
It was so much fun documenting Shay and Seth’s winter wedding in Woodstock. We love how these documentary photos captured the happy emotion of their day!
