Tori and Erik’s Zukas Barn fall wedding was held in late October. Although we have visited this venue before, this was our first time documenting a wedding here. We are so excited to add this Massachusetts rustic barn venue to our list of favorites as we live so close!
These two were complete naturals in front of the camera. After a first look in the woods, we found the best combination of fall foliage and sunbursty light I’ve ever seen. Erik’s bright blue suit popped in front of trees that were on fire with color. Tori wore a backless wedding gown by Lazaro that had everyone’s jaw dropping. She had to do some serious sleuthing to find this dress, but we are so glad she did!

More about this Zukas Barn fall wedding:
When Tori first reached out to us about documenting her wedding at the Zukas Hilltop Barn, she mentioned that she was friends with a few of our past clients. It’s always such an honor to document a couple’s wedding… but to see the same folks again and again at weddings, and have our business referred by word of mouth is really the most incredible (and flattering!) thing.
Sometimes we find ourselves photographing several members of one family’s weddings and wish it could go on forever because we have SO. MUCH. FUN. with these people! Since I’m a visual person, see the trio of photos below to get a better understanding of the connection I feel to some of these folks–
Travers King retelling the story of falling down in a broken chair during the speeches at a previous wedding I photographed (while I exhibit uncontrollable laughter). Photo by the incomparable Sandra Costello.
One of our favorite things about this wedding were the hilarious and heartfelt toasts before dinner. So many people spoke on behalf of Tori and Erik, it was clear that these two newlyweds have really invested themselves in their relationships and family! Erik’s grandfather gave an impromptu speech, where I heard one of the most wonderful quotes I’ve ever witnessed at a wedding. His grandfather said how glad he was that he never landed a demanding high paying job because it probably would have meant that he wouldn’t have had the time to be close with Erik and his brother. What an incredible testament to what is truly important in life.
Thanks to Tori and Erik for including us in their beautiful day. We wish you the best in all of your future adventures together!
