Amelie and Jason had an absolutely gorgeous vintage inspired Cape Cod wedding at the Overbrook House in Buzzard’s Bay, MA. We felt like we had walked into an Anthropologie dream when looking around their reception tent and dancing barn! Despite both Amelie and Jason being from Los Angeles, CA, these two managed to create more swoon-worthy details at their east coast wedding than we have the space to write about! We’ll tell you our favorites, but scroll down to see the pictures that are worth a thousand of our words. :)
Amelie spent weeks hand dying coffee filters to create garlands of pink and peach colored puffs around the property. Their reception tent tables were lined with lace runners and vintage books. Antique frames bearing the covers of books like “Sophie’s World”, “The Great Gatsby”, and “The Loved One”, served as table names, and Amelie and Jason had a super cool white Victorian style couch as their seating area at the head table… it was too perfect!
The bridesmaids wore cowboy boots and the groomsmen donned bowties. Amelie even wore a pair of killer red cowboy boots at the reception. Jason also asked his brother and one of his groomsmen to grow mustaches for the wedding. It took his friend three months of meticulous work, but his stache looked fantastic! There were flowers everywhere… including a flower garland that Amelie wore in her hair! Becca with Petal Floral Design did an amazing job! Oh… and we’re almost forgetting about the lobster! Dinner including a classic New England feast of steamed lobster with drawn butter, corn on the cob, mussels and potatoes. It was heavenly!! (If you’ve seen our own wedding photos, you know how much we love lobster!)
But that’s not all. Amelie and Jason also have a love story that will make you melt… Jason was leading a poetry group in Los Angeles called Killpoet, and he had read some of Amelie’s poetry and invited her to LA for a special event. She agreed to make the trip from the east coast, and upon their first glance, it was true love. Amelie literally never went back home! They’ve been in LA for 8 years now…
We were honored to document this incredible wedding with so much love and character… we hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed taking them!! Congrats Amelie and Jason… ;)
