Kelley & Stephen’s Wedding at the 1824 House
1824 House Inn + Barn Wedding
This summer wedding at the 1824 House Inn + Barn in Vermont had us absolutely swooning. Hints of ethereal, romantic details were around every corner. From the strapless fairytale dress that Kelley wore to the dapper groomsmen in suspenders, we tried to capture all of the loveliness that this wedding was rocking!
We have photographed tons of weddings in Waitsfield, but this was our first time at the 1824 House. After a bit of research, this venue seemed like the perfect blend of rustic and elegance, and we were so excited to see it in person. Scroll down to see our favorite photos from the day!
They captured our special day so perfectly.
Vermont holds a special place in Kelley and Stephen’s hearts. They met and fell in love at Middlebury College, surrounded by the state’s natural beauty. So, it was only fitting that they chose a picturesque Vermont location – the historic 1824 House – to exchange vows amidst the stunning Green Mountains.
Stephen looked dapper in a navy suit, complete with a blue bowtie and white button-up shirt, adding a touch of personality with suspenders. Kelley, a bride with a touch of practicality, stunned in a gorgeous dress that featured pockets – perfect for keeping her sunglasses handy during the outdoor ceremony.
The wedding party photos showcased a unique and stylish twist – the bridesmaids all donned different styles of white dresses! Jayson Munn, a renowned Vermont-based floral stylist from Burlington, brought their vision to life with stunning rustic wedding bouquets featuring purple thistles, seafoam poppy pods, succulents, and elegant white peonies.
Following the heartfelt ceremony atop the hill, guests enjoyed a cozy and rustic reception beneath a beautiful sailcloth tent. Long dinner tables were adorned with raw linen table runners and whimsical eucalyptus garlands. Personalized jars of honey, featuring the happy couple’s picture, served as unique and delicious guest favors. The evening was filled with laughter and heartwarming speeches. Kelley’s sisters even serenaded the couple with a special song, followed by a family rendition of “We Are Family,” truly welcoming Stephen into the fold.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the party moved to the dance floor under the twinkling cafe lights of the tent. Outside, a crackling campfire set the scene for a delightful s’mores party, the perfect ending to a truly magical Vermont wedding day.
