Stowe Meadows Summer Wedding – Kat & Jos
Kat and Jos’ Stowe Meadows summer wedding felt like a woodsy fairytale. These two hosted an intimate outdoor ceremony in the meadow, followed by a tented reception with dinner and dancing. Everything about this wedding felt like it fit so well together. From’s Kat’s whimsical flutter sleeve dress to the farmhouse garden vibe of the reception tent, Nancy with NJoy Events really pulled together Kat and Jos’ vision!
One of our favorite things about this wedding was how Kat and Jos really brought the outside into their reception tent. With greenery garlands draped overhead and rustic wood dinner tables set up, the reception tent felt so cozy and inviting. The tables were lined with raw linen table runners. A Schoolhouse Garden provided the handmade ceramic beige vases filled with wildflowers and simple tea light candles dotted the tables. Kat made the wooden seating chart herself!
It was so nice to see so many familiar faces at this wedding. We photographed Kat’s brother’s Crane Estate wedding a few years back and next year we’ll be photographing Kat’s sister’s wedding at Shelburne Farms! It really is the ultimate compliment to be hired by the same family for so many weddings and we couldn’t feel luckier to get to spend time with such a caring and warm group of people.

More about Kat and Jos’ Stowe Meadows Summer Wedding:
As photojournalists, we are always ready to document the unscripted moments of a wedding day. In Kat and Jos’ case, that meant capturing a BIG surprise involving hot air balloons! After the reception began, it was announced that guests should look toward the mountains. Within minutes, three colorful hot air balloons began popping over the tree line! Everyone waited for the balloons to rise higher, but after some time watching the balloons bob up and down behind the trees, it was explained that the air pressure of the day with the mountains meant they couldn’t go much higher. This created a humorous situation, and capturing the laughter and smiles of it all was priceless.
After dinner, the Vermont Bluegrass Session Band got going. Kat was one of the first to get out there, barefoot and all! As a stunning sunset brought the day to a close, we couldn’t help asking Kat and Jos if they would mind popping outside for a few more portraits. Photographers call this time the “golden hour”. Everything is bathed in this hazy, warm sunset light, and it’s one of our favorite times to take pictures! We were so glad that Kat and Jos were more than happy to pop out for a few minutes . As the sun set over the Green Mountains in the distance, we captured some lovely portraits of this newly married couple. Thanks so much to Kat and Jos for trusting us to document such an important day in their lives!
