Stowe, VT Barn Wedding – Lisa & Tyson’s Rainy Wedding Day!
Lisa and Tyson’s Stowe barn wedding was the culmination of a lot of planning, a bit of rain, and a back up plan that everyone was thankful for! These two had originally planned an outdoor ceremony along the river on the Stowe Quiet Path, but when flash flooding literally eroded their ceremony site in VT, everything was moved to the Comfort Farm. Guests didn’t seem to mind the cozy (and dry!) space, and it was a great reminder that a wedding is about two people who are wildly in love saying “I do” in front of their closest friends and family.

When Lisa first contacted us last year about documenting her wedding in Stowe, it was clear that she had a vision for what the day would look like. Our style of photography would be a great fit with what she and Tyson were planning, with a riverside ceremony on the Stowe Quiet Path, and a tented reception following at the Comfort Farm. Three days before the wedding, Mother Nature decided to have a say. Torrential rains caused flash flooding in Stowe, and the ceremony site was literally under water.
Luckily, Lisa and Tyson had a back up option at the Comfort Farm. Lisa, who owns a dance company in Boston and NYC, immediately begin re-writing the timeline of the wedding day. It was truly incredible how much changed in three days and even with the rain, the day had a seamless feel to it. Guests were happy to stay dry inside of the barn during the ceremony. Umbrellas went hand in hand with cocktails on the patio. The rain even took a short break and Lisa and Tyson were able to have their first dance outside!
These two are clearly adventurous spirits, and seem to be able to take on the world together. After recently purchasing an old farm house along the Mountain Road in Stowe, they decided to completely revamp the inside. The results are breathtaking. They have named their project, “The Farm Home“, and you can follow their progress on Instagram!
Congratulations to these newlyweds. Documenting this Stowe barn wedding was a wonderful reminder of what a wedding is truly about, and we were honored to be a part of it!
