Shelburne Farms Wedding at the Coach Barn in Vermont

Update for 2022/2023

The Shelburne Farms Coach Barn wedding venue is currently undergoing renovations. Sadly, this venue will not be accepting weddings in 2022 or 2023. Check out our Vermont Wedding Venues page to find other great venues if you’re planning a 2023 Vermont wedding!

We were instantly excited when Sean and Krissy reached out to us about photographing their Shelburne Farms wedding at the Coach Barn. This upscale barn venue has quite a following, and has been on our wish list for a while! With a ceremony site that sits on the shore of Lake Champlain and overlooks the Adirondack Mountains, what’s not to love!?! After following Krissy’s Instagram account, Cottage Farm, we knew this wedding would have some seriously gorgeous vintage styling. Krissy has an amazing eye for design and her love of raw linen and simple table decor was on full display for this wedding!

More about this Shelburne Farms Wedding at the Coach Barn:

Krissy and Sean both prepared for the day at the Shelburne Farms Inn. We absolutely love it when venues have on-site prep spaces for the couple and their wedding party. Shelburne Farms has its own Inn, so there is plenty of space for the couple to get ready AND for the guests to stay overnight. Krissy and Sean started their day with a “first look” in front of the Inn. Even when the weather turned misty, bubble umbrellas kept these two dry during their garden and lakeside portraits. Krissy wore a stunning gown from Kleinfeld with an intricate brocade pattern. The lace sleeves on this dress really gave the ultimate elegant vibe.

One of our favorite things about this wedding venue is the outdoor ceremony space. Guests are treated to stunning views of Lake Champlain AND scenic Adirondack mountain vistas! Incredible! After the ceremony, guests were then invited into the Coach Barn for cocktails. This barn has original wainscoting and wood floors, giving it a truly historic feel. Krissy hung small tea lights in glass globes from the ceiling and two long family style tables were set for dinner. Krissy combined raw linen table cloths with striking Jack in the Pulpit orchid flowers on the tables and the result was so unique!
