Amber and Brian’s rustic Cape Cod wedding was held at the woodsy Overbrook House wedding venue in Buzzard’s Bay, MA. These two, who planned their big day from California, created an incredibly colorful wedding and everyone seemed so at ease the entire day! As documentary wedding photographers, there were an overwhelming number of candid moments at this rustic Cape Cod wedding to capture. One of the things we couldn’t help noticing about this wedding from the beginning of the day, was how many friends and family were helping out. A close friend officiated the ceremony while another took on the job of MC’ing the night. Gorgeous flowers were provided by Little Flower Cottage, but so many friends teamed together to create the bridesmaid bouquets, rustic boutonnieres and bud vases set up throughout the reception. It was clear that this wedding came together by the loving hands of so many people. What an incredible gift to this couple, whose wedding truly conveyed a warmth and handmade spirit that was an honor to document!

We fell head over heels for the unique escort card table at this woodsy wedding. Animal figurines were spray painted gold, and then cards with each guests’ name were attached. One of the escort animals even made its way into a photo with the wedding rings, complete with twinkle lights and colorful pennants behind it.

I think one of our favorite moments from this rustic Cape Cod wedding was when Amber took the mic and surprised Brian (and everyone!) by performing a rendition of, “When it don’t come easy” by Patti Griffin, backed by two musician friends of course. The emotion in the room was palpable and there was nothing but pure love in her voice. Amber used to be the lead singer for a wedding band, so it was a truly serendipitous moment!
