North Shore Wedding – Singing Beach Club, MA
Hannah and Guy had a beautiful fall day for their North Shore wedding in Manchester-by-the-Sea. The North Shore, which is basically the coastline between Boston and NH, is one of our favorite places to photograph weddings. Obviously it’s overwhelmingly beautiful, but also, most of our couples who get married here have also grown up in the area. There is an unmistakeable feeling of nostalgia in the air at these kinds of weddings… and what an incredible thing to get married in a place with so many memories?
Hannah and Guy had a unique wedding day with not one, but two ceremonies! From Tuck’s Point to the Singing Beach Club, every minute of this day felt magical. See all of our favorites below…
More about this North Shore wedding in Manchester-by-the-Sea…
Hannah prepared for the day in the bedroom of the home she grew up in. “Obviously, it did’t look like this when I was living here,” she said laughing. As I photographed her lace wedding dress in the window of her room, I couldn’t help but think all of the growing up she had done in this house, and now she was getting married just down the road! Talk about all of the emotions!
This wedding was unique though, as Hannah and Guy wanted to have an not one, but two ceremonies. An intimate ceremony at the Tuck’s Point Gazebo started the day off. Surrounded by the closest friends and immediate family, Hannah and Guy said their vows in a quiet sea of calm. Seeing this kind of pre-wedding ceremony, it makes me wonder how this hasn’t become a cultural tradition. I know as wedding photographers we are part of the “machine”, but I simply love the idea of gathering the closest people in your lives together for this kind of ritual before the bigger festivities begin.
The larger ceremony at the Singing Beach Club followed. There were so many lovely rustic details, but one definitely stole the show. Hannah and her father built a beautiful wooden honeycomb ceremony backdrop. This modern wedding arbor was different from anything else I’ve ever seen. Luna Moss worked their magic and adorned it with trailing greenery and pastel roses.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails on the lawn. The Singing Beach Club venue offers a two minute walk to the beach. We lucked out with some incredible sunset light for portraits of Hannah and Guy along the water!
