Summer Wedding on Squam Lake – Carolyn & Eric
Carolyn and Eric had a beautiful NH summer camp wedding on the picturesque Squam Lake in June. While we have photographed many camp weddings throughout New England, this space had a special meaning for Carolyn. Her great grandfather started the summer camp in 1945 and it has been a part of her family for over 70 years now. It made perfect sense to host the wedding at this rustic spot, nestled in the pine trees of Holderness, NH.
Here are some of our favorite documentary and candid photos from the day. Congrats to this happy couple!
Big thanks to Sheena with Showcase Events for helping coordinate this NH summer camp wedding! After an outdoor chapel ceremony beneath a canopy of pine trees, Carolyn and Eric took a leisurely boat ride around Squam Lake. The antique wooden boat made for gorgeous photos, with a mountain backdrop of course. Guests enjoyed cocktails by the lake while children played in expansive green fields! It was so cool to see all of the wedding guests who had sentimental ties to this camp. Generations of Carolyn’s family have both attended and worked at the camp, so memories were around every corner.
One of our favorite details about this wedding was the unique idea this couple had for a guestbook. They used a plate, with their wedding anchor logo, and guests signed their names around the plate! Even better, the plate has made by hand by their friend Naomi. We also loved the rendition of the Pokarekare Ana (a traditional New Zealand song) performed by Eric’s family members after dinner, and the evening was capped off with dancing under twinkle lights in the main camp lodge. Talk about a perfect day!
