Hudson Valley Wedding Photography at the Garrison
Heather and Dylan had a lovely rustic styled wedding in the Hudson Valley at the scenic Garrison venue. Their day was filled with family, friends, love, and non-stop smiles. Heather wore a unique handmade wedding dress, a bead garland and gardenias in her hair. Dylan proudly sported a Grateful Dead lapel pin and a succulent boutonniere, and their son Elijah couldn’t have looked more adorable with his teensy tiny tuxedo. ;) With the Hudson River Valley as a backdrop, Heather and Dylan said their “I do’s” during their outdoor ceremony at The Garrison in NY. They had one of the most stunning natural wedding vine arbors with hundreds of strands of white orchids woven throughout it’s twisting branches. They also incorporated a few alternative cultural elements into their big day, including a water ceremony where guests brought small amounts of water from near their homes and communities and combined the water into one bowl which Heather and Dylan washed their hands in before being joined as husband and wife.
The reception was decorated with thick woven linen table cloths, purple fiddleheads, and flowers in natural birch bark planters. Crystals were also used around the reception and to create a lit escort card wall for guests to find their seats. I think our favorite part of the reception was when all of the guests chimed in to sing Bob Dylan’s Forever Young to the couple…turns out, Forever Young is an incredibly emotional song when it’s being sung from the lips of 200 of your closest friends and family!! It truly was a moving experience. Congrats to Heather and Dylan… we were honored to document your big day. ;)
