Franconia Wedding at The Horse & Hound Venue in NH

Alyssa and Melvin tied the knot at the Horse & Hound, a Franconia wedding venue nestled in the White Mountains of NH. While this venue has been around for a while, this was our first time photographing a wedding here and we are officially smitten.

When couples can prepare for the day on site, it alleviates so much stress (and makes our job easier!). This venue has plenty of gorgeous places for the couple to get ready and for wedding guests to stay overnight!

Having lived for three years in New Hampshire, this state holds a special place in my heart. New Hampshire seems to embody the spirit of authenticity, and places like the Horse and Hound further prove that assumption! This rustic wedding venue is filled with warmth and old wood. It’s the perfect place for an intimate wedding in the White Mountains. The new owners of this venue have strung up twinkle lights around the property and done a wonderful job with landscaping while still providing a woodsy feel.

We also love that this venue has plenty of space for the couple and their wedding party to prepare for the day, and also has rooms for guests to stay overnight if needed. Alyssa and Melvin started off their wedding day with a first look that included their adorable golden retriever puppy Cody! After an outdoor ceremony in the field behind the Horse and Hound, guests were invited into the rustic post and beam reception space.

I LOVED the reception decor at this wedding! Alyssa worked with Tarrnation Flower Farm just down the road for the florals, and they were stunning. There was so much color, I felt like I was in an Anthropologie window display! From the studded blue glassware to the quaint vintage place settings, I took about a zillion photos of these tables. One of my favorite ideas for this wedding was using kraft paper on the tables and giving guests colorful markers to use while waiting for dinner and dancing to begin! I also loved the idea of hanging colorful ribbons from the chair backs.
