Ethereal Spring Wedding at the 1909 in Topanga Canyon, CA – Chris & Stella
Chris and Stella’s ethereal spring wedding at the 1909 in Topanga Canyon, CA was absolutely gorgeous. It ranks up there as one of my personal favorites too, because the groom just happens to be my “little” brother. :) Here are some of my favorite candid photos from their outdoor wedding this past March. Stella is a stunning beauty, and was simply glowing at 23 weeks pregnant! I think one of my favorite parts about their relaxed ceremony on the deck of the 1909 was when they read handwritten vows to not only each other, but also to their baby!
Stella wore a satin wedding dress that seemed like it was made just for her and carried the sweetest yellow bouquet of ranunculus, peonies, and roses. These two really worked within a budget and had close friends help throughout the day. Stella’s friend Lauren Paez did hair and makeup, and another close friend, Katelin Gibbs, not only made their rings, but also was the officiant, and handled the design and ethereal decoration of the day!
From a little beach bungalow in Venice, CA, Chris and Stella have been planning their wedding since last fall. After their romantic outdoor ceremony, guests were invited into the lower field for dinner. Three long rustic farm tables were decorated with long garlands of eucalyptus greenery and other trailing greens purchased at Venice Plants. Wooden pots with succulents and cacti were placed around the reception area. Chris and Stella had an amazing and unique idea for dinner–to serve handmade tacos made by the talented Amara Kitchen folks, along with an array of vegetarian side dishes like a kale salad, roasted root veggies, and a corn and black bean salsa.
After an outdoor sunset dinner, guests were treated to a very entertaining and seemingly choreographed first dance, which turned out to be a complete first for both the bride and groom! Everyone danced the night away to a funk and soul playlist that Chris worked tirelessly on, and the evening was capped off with Stella busting a zebra piñata wide open. We were honored to be a part of this wonderful spring wedding at the 1909 in Topanga, and I am so happy to see my little brother get to marry the love of his life and (in his words) his babymama. Congrats to this happy couple, hope you guys enjoy the photos we captured! :)
