Oliver and Bryant’s Boston Area Lakeside Wedding

I was so excited to be back at Moraine Farm for another wedding last weekend! Oliver and Bryant’s day was filled with nothing but love and support, and it was an honor to document their day.

As wedding photographers our goal is to capture the love between two people. We believe that love is love and want to stand up and be allies for all people in love. Oliver shared with me that they are non binary, and their partner Bryant identifies as male. Having conversations about preferred pronouns in our line of work gives me hope for the future. I was proud to document Oliver and Bryant’s wedding day, and I maintain hope that my children will live in a world that respects and appreciates ALL love.

More about this Boston area lakeside wedding:

As outdoor wedding photographers in New England, we’ve seen our fair share of Mother Nature’s moods. From full sun (the worst!) to hurricane force winds (let’s hope that tent is staked down really well!), we are always able to make great photos in any environment. That said, having a torrential downpour when you plan to get married outside isn’t always great news to the couple or their wedding guests. Oliver and Bryant’s reaction to the weather, ALONG with their sixty wedding guests, had the exact opposite reaction. They seemed to welcome the rain, and there was never a moment where they were going to move things inside.

We loved their “roll with it” attitude, and honestly, photographing their ceremony was so fun! Working the umbrellas into different compositions and finding unique and different angles to capture Oliver and Bryant under the Chuppah was a welcome challenge. Their officiant, Beth Levin, did an incredible job of sharing so much of who Oliver and Bryant are and really including everyone in the ceremony.

We did luck out with perfectly overcast clouds for Oliver and Bryant’s first look and portraits, so from a “saving my camera from water damage” point of view, that was nice. For folks making speeches, the weather also gave them the perfect opportunity to say things like, “You two can clearly weather any storm” or “This couple can really make lemonade out of lemons!”.

Thanks to Oliver and Bryant for trusting me to document such an important day in their lives. It really was an honor and I hope they have the best honeymoon ever in Iceland. Clearly, inclement weather will never be a barrier for these two!  :)
