Backyard Wedding Photography in Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA – Emily & Alex
Emily and Alex’s rustic backyard wedding was filled with childhood memories, family and friends, great literary quotes, and a lot of wooden signs! They decided to have the wedding in MA in Manchester-by-the-Sea, where Emily grew up. This truly felt like a dream wedding, and I couldn’t help thinking about the movie, “Father of the Bride” the entire day!
Emily and Alex said their I do’s at the local beach called Tuck’s Point, and while they stood on the shores of the water, friends read excerpts from Little Women, and Emily’s sister sang a gorgeous rendition of Moon River. After the ceremony, guests headed back to the bride’s family’s backyard for a rustic reception with vintage cafe-style lights strung overhead and lots of signs letting guests know what was where. These two decided to have an alternative dinner at the wedding, and had food trucks park in front of the house to serve guests when they were hungry! They also set up a homemade photo booth, a backyard camp fire pit, lawn games, and a bar in the barn. To keep guests from getting chilly, vintage baskets filled with blankets were easy to find and a rockin’ band kept folks dancing.
From the colorful autumn portraits of this lovely bride and groom, to the overflowing nostalgia throughout the day, we felt so lucky to spend the day with Emily and Alex, and to tell the story in pictures of how their wedding day happened. Thanks to this happy couple… we hope you’re having a blast in Greece!
