We photographed our first rustic wedding at the Whispering Pines Center in West Greenwich, RI this past weekend. Christine and Jay had a military style DIY outdoor wedding next to the gorgeous lake on the property. These two met while overseas in the Army together, and actually had their commander act as their officiant for the ceremony! We also learned that Christine is super crafty, and handmade almost all of the decorations for the wedding. She and her mother sewed all of the yellow and gray pennant bunting to hang from the ceiling for the reception, Christine and Jay both made the super cool vintage escort spoons with people’s names pressed into them, and she made all of the photobooth props (that post is coming soon!) for their mustache and bowtie themed photobooth. She also incorporated vintage photographs of her ancestors into the RSVP cards for her invitations. Such an amazing idea!
Anything that Christine didn’t create herself, she found on Etsy, and I think she has the longest list of Etsy vendors involved we’ve ever seen! (See vendor credits at the end of this post for proof!) All of the Fenton milk glass for the table centerpieces took Christine two years of flea market scouring to acquire. Talk about a labor of love! All in all, their woodsy wedding came together beautifully, and we felt honored to be there to document all of it! Congratulations to Christine and Jay… ;)
