If you haven’t check out the Etsy/DIY/Art & Home lovers phenomenon that is Pinterest… I suggest you do, and fast. Despite it being, quite literally, the reason I can’t sleep at night, I am finding myself more inspired than ever as a result of this amazing little site. Pinterest serves as a sort of social media + digital scrapbook for everything you stumble across while touring the vast internet… and keeps track of everything you desire by “pinning” images onto various boards that you create.

Recently, my cousin in Colorado pointed out that Dreamlove has had quite a few of our own pretty pictures pinned to members’ inspiration boards… and we find that in itself, inspiring! :)

It’s also a great way for us to keep in touch with our clients, wedding planners, florists, etc., just to see what sorts of decadent details we can look forward to documenting at their upcoming fete…

Chris & Steph | Joshua Tree National Park | Los Angeles, CA

I recently made my first trip to LA to visit (and photograph) my little brother Chris and his girlfriend Stephanie. They live in Venice Beach, which surprisingly felt more like a small hipster town than anything I was expecting. With vintage thrift stores in every direction, and amazing restaurants lining the streets… I can see why people would choose to call this place home. We made a pilgrimage to Joshua Tree National Park on the weekend, and spent some time in Pioneertown at Pappy and Harriet’s. More pictures to come soon… but here are a few of my favorites… :)

Featured: Nora and Chadd on the Hamptons WellWed Blog!

We were super excited when the editors over at WellWed magazine contacted us about publishing Nora and Chadd’s Long Island beach wedding on their blog! And they chose to lead with one of my FAVORITE storytelling pictures… I snapped the photo below after Nora had her hair and makeup done at the Adde K. Salon in “downtown” Point Lookout, and was on her way back to her parent’s home to finish getting ready. A barefoot bride with a bicycle? I was born to photograph just that! :) Shooting oceanside weddings is always fun… and this vintage wedding in Nora’s hometown was gorgeous. Watching the Superbowl game tonight brought back memories of my former life as a newspaper photographer, and what it feels like to be on the field during such a massive event. I’ll admit, getting to photograph Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones was definitely a thrill, but there are pros and cons to all walks of life. I’ll always love community journalism and the chance to document those larger than life events, but honestly, I’m happier now than I’ve ever been. And I’m still documenting larger than life events for our clients every weekend. :)
