Ashley and Mike’s Cape Cod beach wedding earlier in September was such an honor to document. This was our second wedding we have photographed for the Kennedys, and it looks like it won’t be our last! ;) The wedding was held at the Point Gammon lighthouse near Ashley’s home on Great Island in West Yarmouth. We couldn’t get enough of all of the loving and emotional moments between this happy bride and groom, as evidenced by the crazy number of photos in this blog post! Huge thanks to the Unique Weddings by Alexis team for helping coordinate this day… with such a unique venue, she made everything easy!

Ashley and Mike’s wedding felt very unique to us for a few reasons. First, Ashley is Greek, and there were some amazing traditional Greek dances during the reception that we have never seen (or even heard of!) before this wedding. The second thing that set this wedding apart for us is that Mike is the younger brother of my best friend Nora, and I’ve known his family for over ten years now. It was such a joyful feeling to be behind the camera, capturing such an emotional and important day for both Mike and Ashley. It also reminded me that what Max and I do as wedding photographers–preserving these fleeting magical moments that tell the story of our couple’s wedding day is an incredible honor that we are so grateful to be able to do!

There were so many great beach wedding ideas from Ashley and Mike’s big day. Some of our favorites included the sea glass escort card table idea, where Ashley used a silver pen to write guest’s names and table numbers on colorful pieces of sea glass set in a shallow wooden tray with sand. The lobster socks by J. McLaughlin that Mike and his groomsmen wore fantastic too.

From the heartfelt speeches to the hilarious Greek dances and traditions, this wedding had us smiling all day while shooting and laughing out loud while editing. I love these people to the moon and back, and I’m already excited to see Ashley at future Kennedy family functions in the coming years! Congratulations to Mike and Ashley… I hope these photos let you re-live the magic of your wedding day again and again until you are 100.  :)
